Emma is the Communications Manager at Picker and has over 15 years’ experience in B2B marketing. She’s previously held roles at Adestra, GTI Media and The Nielsen Company, where she worked with top brands including Coca-Cola and Kerry Foods.
At Picker, Emma is responsible for the internal and external communication strategy. Her role includes PR, content, social, email and digital marketing.
Prior to becoming CEO in 2017, Chris led Picker’s research division from 2011 to 2016. In this post he was responsible for overseeing the development and coordination of large scale research and evaluation projects, including the NHS Patient and Staff Survey Coordination Centres, run on behalf of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NHS England respectively. He has also worked at the Care Quality Commission and its predecessor the Healthcare Commission, as well as undertaking other roles at Picker from 2004 to 2007.
Chris has particular interests in person centred care and in research on staff, patient, and user experiences of health and care. He has undertaken research and written widely on these subjects. He is a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) faculty member and an associate member of the University of Oxford’s Health Services Research Unit. Chris studied Experimental Psychology at Pembroke College, University of Oxford.
Cara is a Research Associate in the Research Division. She joined Picker in 2014 and her responsibilities include developing and implementing new tools to gather patient and service user experience, focusing particularly on lesser heard populations and disease specific groups. After graduating, Cara spent three years working at a school for children with autism and Asperger’s as a Learning Support Assistant.
