Steve joined Picker in 2008 and in his role, has oversight of statistical analysis, survey design and validation, analysis and reporting of research data, statistical advice. Steve has experience of analysis methods, psychometrics, assessment theory and social research methods generally dating back to 1989. Examples include work on the national NHS Patient Surveys. He is first-named author on a range of published book chapters, reports, and academic papers and has presented research findings at international conferences.
Emma is the Communications Manager at Picker and has over 15 years’ experience in B2B marketing. She’s previously held roles at Adestra, GTI Media and The Nielsen Company, where she worked with top brands including Coca-Cola and Kerry Foods.
At Picker, Emma is responsible for the internal and external communication strategy. Her role includes PR, content, social, email and digital marketing.
Emma has a Diploma in Direct Marketing and is a Fellow of the Institute of Data & Marketing.
Prior to becoming CEO in 2017, Chris led Picker’s research division from 2011 to 2016. In this post he was responsible for overseeing the development and coordination of large scale research and evaluation projects, including the NHS Patient and Staff Survey Co-ordination Centres, run on behalf of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NHS England respectively. He has also worked at the Care Quality Commission and its predecessor the Healthcare Commission, as well as undertaking other roles at Picker from 2004 to 2007.
Chris has particular interests in person centred care and in research on staff, patient, and user experiences of health and care. He has undertaken research and written widely on these subjects. He is a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) faculty member and an associate member of the University of Oxford’s Health Services Research Unit. Chris studied Experimental Psychology at Pembroke College, University of Oxford.
