New mothers’ experiences of care survey 2020
At Picker, we know how important it is to measure patient experience in order to drive quality improvements, and our new-mothers’ experiences of care survey package will help you do just that.
Although the CQC has stopped the 2020 Maternity Survey centrally, we believe that understanding the experiences of new mothers is still important and that the need for person centred care continues even during difficult times.
We are continuing our commitment to support organisations to capture new-mothers’ experiences of care in 2020.
Our survey package includes:
- A dedicated management team to support you from start to finish
- A modern mixed mode survey methodology, with mothers able to respond digitally or via paper surveys
- Comprehensive reporting and analysis, including an interactive online dashboard of results, which uses evidence-based insights to support long-term planning and deliver sustainable improvements for mothers
- Access to our online webinar of the overall results from the survey, enabling you to share ideas with peers and gain an understanding of experience trends

In addition to our core package, Picker offers a range of services and tools to assist service providers to delve deeper into staff and patient experiences. These range from thematic reviews, sentiment analysis reports, bespoke research, consultancy, focus groups and toolkits.
Kath Evans, Director of Children’s Nursing/Chair of the Children’s Board, Barts Health:
“Capturing experiences of maternity care remains as important as ever, these memories will remain with users of services and are the foundation to family life. Maternity care will evolve during this pandemic and we must continue to learn; service users will inform and guide us so that we can continue to keep improving as we emerge from these challenging times. The maternity experience data set provides rich narratives of the on-going improvements to maternity services that have been made in recent years. It inspires and encourages us to keep working to provide the very best maternity experiences we possibly can.”
We have been an approved CQC contractor for National Patient Experience Surveys and an approved NHS England contractor for the National Staff Survey since the frameworks were established. We work with over 170 NHS trusts and organisations, and partner with over half of trusts who take part in the CQC’s maternity survey.
