Improving the co-ordination of care requires ongoing focus and commitment. CLIC Sargent have been heavily involved in supporting key worker positions, and facilitating research in this area.
They have identified the improvements required to improve care for children, young people and their families receiving cancer treatment. This research can be applied to all specialities; and highlights the benefits of employing key workers, who offer knowledge, support effective co-ordination processes and relationship building, all of which improve people’s experiences of care.
