The NHS Staff Survey can be used as a driver of experience-led excellence.
Picker has been delivering the NHS Staff Survey since its inception in 2003 and we are proud to be the provider of choice for half of all participating NHS organisations. As a registered charity, our purpose has always been focused on improving people's experience of care, not generating profit.
The Picker NHS staff survey offers a reliable source of workforce insight, supporting organisations to understand their results, identify priorities, and take informed, evidence-based action.
Have you sourced your survey provider for 2026?
We can help you to:
- Translate results into clear, actionable priorities for your teams
- Make sense of large volumes of feedback, including free text, without specialist analytical resource
- Know which results are significant and which reflect normal variation
- Reach all staff groups, including bank and hard-to-reach workers, and maintain strong participation
- Connect NHS Staff Survey findings to the NHS People Promise and provide clear evidence for board level assurance
What’s new in 2026?
Picker has evolved our NHS Staff Survey offering for 2026 to bring in new tools and additional benefits:
- AI thematic free text analysis that identifies themes, sentiment and patterns across free text commentary, surfacing the story behind the scores without needing analytical resource.
- Self-service access to your results for every team via the Picker Insights Platform, so no waiting around for additional breakdown reports.
- People Promise Dashboard enhanced with historical tracking and expanded filtering built in as standard.
This sits alongside our core offering of
- Compliance and confidence – in national inclusion and NHSE requirements
- Reporting that non-analysts can read and act on immediately
- Insight linked to the NHS People Promise and board-level assurance
- Modular, affordable pricing – you’ll buy only the reports you actually use
- Free additional analysis after each survey and multi-year discounts available
- National Quarterly Pulse Survey as an additional aligned service tracing engagement across all four quarters, not just annually
- Two free places at our annual National Insight and Improvement Workshops

Our service in action
Picker worked closely with Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) to help the organisation use NHS Staff Survey insights to drive a long-term culture and wellbeing transformation.
Through our NHS Staff Survey service and NHS Culture and Leadership Programme, LPFT developed leadership, wellbeing and engagement initiatives shaped by staff feedback, creating a more compassionate and connected workplace. By listening to staff and acting on survey findings, the trust achieved significant improvements in staff experience, increased survey participation, and progressed from a CQC rating of “Requires Improvement” to “Good” overall and “Outstanding” for well-led.
