Picker's policy work
At Picker, our policy work is grounded in one simple principle: health and care systems work best when they are designed around people’s real experiences. Drawing on robust evidence, patient feedback and frontline insight, we translate what matters most to people into clear, practical recommendations for change. We bring an independent voice to national and local conversations, bridging the gap between lived experience and decision-making to ensure policy is not only informed, but meaningful and actionable.
Our approach combines credibility, collaboration and impact. We work closely with system leaders, clinicians and communities to shape policies that improve quality, equity and outcomes across health and care. Whether influencing national strategy or supporting local improvement, our focus remains consistent: to make services more human, responsive and effective by putting people’s perspectives at the heart of every decision.
Picker Press Centre
As health and social care research experts and thought leaders, we aim to be a valuable resource for media by providing a library of analysis and background information into the delivery of person centred care. We present our methodology and findings at conferences worldwide, addressing issues at a regional, national, and global level. Our position as an international charity and a globally recognised expert in using patient experience to improve the quality of health and social care makes us well placed to offer evidence-based guidance for future improvement.
In recent years, we have worked with project partners such as The King’s Fund and been invited to speak at conferences worldwide as well as within the UK.
Expert spokespeople for events
We have a range of health and social care experts on hand, who are always happy to communicate their vital work. Our spokespeople can also be called upon to provide comment and analysis to the media, as well as contribute articles and provide background briefings. We are also available to present at events and debates.
